Welcome to Hero Sports, a program created to help children grow in their Christian faith and learn how to live out the teachings of Christ. We believe that children can learn important lessons about teamwork, encouragement, obedience and how to treat others in life by first learning them on a court.
Click on the links to the right to learn more about Hero Sports and to register your child to participate. We are confident that he or she will be blessed (and give blessings) through the experience. Thank you for your interest in Hero Sports.

It's Tournament Time! Congratulations to the Chosen Ones for winning the league tournament this season.

Here are the championship brackets for the season tournament.  Games start Saturday March 8, 2025 with the Championship Games to be played on Tuesday March 11, 2024.

Young Men's Division

Since teams played an uneven number of games, winning percentage was used to seed tournament.

The 2024-2025 Basketball Season has Begun

Registration is now open for the 2024-2025 season.

Register by clicking on the Register Now button to the right.

Rosters are now posted (see link to right) for the teams that have registered.

Teams will be formed based on registrations.  Practice times will be posted once these are assigned. Practice times will be shown on the Team Roster page when available.

For High School and Young Men's Leagues, players form their own teams and compete as a unit.  A $400 registration fee per team must be received prior to games beginning.  All players must register individually, and designate which team they are joining by submitting a completed team roster of 7-10 players.  Team rosters may be turned in at any time before January 1.  Any Individually registered players without a team will be assigned to teams as necessary.  You must let Casey Jetton know if you are looking to join a team so I can assign you to your preferred team.

Games will be played Saturdays from January to March.  Teams will practice one night per week during the season.  A post season tournament is scheduled for March 8-11, 2025.

Coaches can sign-up for weekly practice times on Saturday at the gym.  It will be on a first come-first served basis.  Gym time is limited so make arrangements this weekend for the rest of the season.  The church has enhanced its building security.  Coaches will be assigned a unique access code for the gym door and a security alarm code.  The access code will be valid for a set time and date.  Teams will be granted access to the gym during their assigned practice times only.  All codes will be deactivated at the end of the season.

Games are scheduled to begin Saturday, January 4th, 2025.  Tip-off will begin at 3:00pm, and games will run until approximately 4:30pm.  A complete schedule has been posted on this website (see button on the right).

The Registration fee is due Saturday:  $75 (individual) or $400 (team) includes player registration and uniform jersey.  Registration fees may be paid online via Paypal or at the gym's concession stand.  Checks should be made payable to Hero Sports.  Or you can scan and pay using:

I look forward to seeing you on Saturdays. - Casey

Unfortunately, we did not receive enough registrations for the elementary or middle school divisions this season.  Therefore, we will not be able to play any games in these age groups.

Registrations for the high school and young men's divisions have also been slow to materialize this season.

As a result, we will have just one game on January 4, at 3:00pm between For Him (Joe Kosin) and Chosen Ones (Darius Shipley). Additional games will be added next week as team registations are received.  This is a reminder that league fees of $400 per team are are due prior to the game.

We will do our best to provide the best experience possible with the resources available.

We Need Volunteers!

There are several opportunities for parents and other family members to help make this league a great experience for our children.  This league is operated entirely with volunteers.  We need coaches, assistant coaches, referees, concession stand workers, devotion leaders, set-up crew, clean-up crew, and all kinds of general help.  Please sign up to volunteer for one of these important roles.  Children benefit when parents are involved with them in their activities, and this is a fun way to do something for and with our kids.

High school students often are looking for volunteer hours to satisfy school and club requirements, and we are happy to provide the opportunity to earn those.

Volunteer sign-up is under the player registration, since most volunteers are parents.  Just click on the boxes of things you are willing to do.  Or you can talk to us at the evaluations or send us an email offering to help.  Thank you!

Road / Weather Conditions - updated 1/11/2025 11:45am

Good evening, everyone.

I want to let you know that we are cancelling basketball for tomorrow December 24.  I know we planned to host open gym, but in light of the weather and terrible road conditions - it is best to call off tomorrow's play.  Highway 169 is a mess and the parking lot is very slick, with little improvement expected by tomorrow afternoon.  The gym will be closed for the next few days until road conditions improve.

We hope to be open for December 31 open gym times.

Thank you for understanding, and be safe.

Hello, everyone.

We will play today.  I am at the gym and the roads were clear.  The parking lot is manageable and we have a few guys coming to shovel to make it safer.  Check the game schedule to find your tip time.  Should be three games today if everyone shows up.

Games for January 20 have been canceled.  The parking lot has not been cleared, and it appears to be icy underneath the snow.  We are concerned with cars getting up and down the hill outside the gym without sliding, and with the extreme cold in case someone were to be stranded en route. We will resume practices and games next week.

In the event of inclement weather, we will post any delays or cancellations on this web-site at least an hour before tip-off on Game days.  Practice changes will be communicated by coaches via phone call, email, or text messaging.  The website will be updated as information is available.  Group emails or texts will be sent to registered players' contacts on file.  We will also try to have this on WKYT-27.

Thank you.
